Can you imagine the sweetness of organic ripe strawberries combined with the richness of dates and undertones of cinnamon? You don't have to because we created it. Get your jalapenos ready and get into the kitchen because this recipe is not only easy to assemble, you won't find a combination of flavor like this at any grocery store. Make time to jazz up your lunch and dinner dishes with vegan, healthy, hot and delicious sauces!

Ingredients You'll Need:

  • 5 medium sized jalapenos

  • 2 yellow hots

  • 3 ripened Roma tomatoes

  • 1/4 small white onion

  • 1 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, stemmed and roughly chopped

  • 2 Medjool dates, pitted and soaked in 1/4 cup water

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste

  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup filtered water

  • Extra virgin olive oil spray (optional for broiling the peppers)

Instructions:

  • Soak: Start by soaking the pitted dates in about 1/3 cup water

  • Broil: After rinsing your peppers, place them whole and uncut, along with quartered onion, and uncut tomatoes on a lightly sprayed glassware baking pan. Broil at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Turn off the oven and leave the chilies in the oven until just cooled enough to blend.

  • Chop: Rinse and remove the stems from the strawberries before chopping

  • Blender Prep: Remove the stems from cooked chilies and place everything in your blender. For a milder sauce, you can remove most of the seeds, or all of them. Depending on how matured your chilies are will also be the factor in how hot your sauce turns out. Add in the remaining ingredients along with 1/2 cup of water, salt, and cinnamon.

  • Blending: Blend all ingredients, gradually increasing speed so that everything keeps moving. Blend on high for up to one minute. If your going to keep all the seeds for a spicier sauce, continue blending on high until there are no seed bits remaining.

  • Taste and Chill: Adjust the salt level to your desired taste. Pour into a bowl, cover, and refrigerate overnight. By letting it set aside a few hours or overnight, you allow all of the flavors to marry. The heat factor will reduce slightly as well.

  • Servings: Depending on the weight of your ingredients, this recipe makes about 3 1/2 cups.

  • Enjoy: Serve your fresh vegan strawberry salsa with baked corn chips, veggie tacos, tofu, raw vegan veggie wraps and more. The possibilities are endless!

Why You'll Love It

  • Vegan Delight: This salsa is not just delicious but also entirely plant-based, making it a guilt-free indulgence for vegans and non-vegans alike.

  • Surprisingly Addictive: The unique combination of ingredients may seem unusual, but once you try it, you will like it!

  • Healthier Twist: By using natural sweeteners like dates and fresh fruit, you're opting for a healthier alternative to traditional salsas that are laden with refined sugars, vinegars, and additives.
